If you’re vegan and looking for replacements or alternatives for those wearable items and daily accessories that are commonly made from the skin of animals (belts, wallets, etc.), take a look at this option. These items aren’t just vegan, they’re made from upcycled items…
They call it upcycling, not recycling because as the company suggests on their website, “Recycling turns stuff into the same thing over and over again. Upcycling turns something of lesser value into something of greater value.”
The company is Alchemy Goods based out of Seattle, WA. They not only offer alternative products to their leather made counterparts, but they use an amazingly resilient and waterproof recyclable material… blown out bicycle tubes. Alchemy Goods makes most of it’s products from blown out bike tires that are donated to them. Turning something useless into useful. They also work with items such as old advertising banners and seat belts from junked cars.
While their main focus started out with making backpacks and messenger bags, they have branched out to offer a number of other products now such as belts, wallets, and zipper pulls… Check out the options they have for belts here.
And if you’re looking for a vegan option to carry your money, check out their money clips and wallets here.
